My wife and I recently attended a conference in Dallas, where the last of about 15 great speakers said, “Do what you know to do, even if you don’t know what you’re doing.” Well, that pretty much describes me! I know that the right thing to do is help get more people off the streets in Tulsa and into a dignified home, surrounded by care and services. A roof over their heads alone won’t solve the issue, but it sure helps. I do know some stuff, but sure don’t know it all! \u00a0We\u2019ve only been a non-profit for about 6 months now, so I\u2019m pretty much figuring this deal out as we go.<\/p>\n
I do know the need is great.\u00a0 The homeless problem in Tulsa, and in all other cities, is getting much worse.\u00a0 In Tulsa, we really don\u2019t have time to mess around, complain, form committees, and attempt to get it all perfect before we take action.\u00a0 We just have to do it!<\/p>\n
So, I’m trusting that other people will come along beside us to help make Eden Village a reality in Tulsa very soon. Right now, we need funding, as we\u2019re not going to pursue much government money, for various reasons. I admit, I\u2019m a classic entrepreneur. For me, it\u2019s always been ready-fire-aim. That means I\u2019ll jump in and begin working towards finding a solution, building a business, starting a project, etc. and not spend a lot of time in organizing things, meetings, reading the instructions, preparing, and making a detailed plan. Sometimes that method can get off track, but often it works out great.
