How Eden Village of Excelsior Springs Came To Be
How we came to be and where we intend to go.
Eden Village of Excelsior Springs began as a vision and dream of two community members from local churches. They were brought together by a community leader who heard their stories and heart for the homeless. Little did they know they had both toured Eden Village of Springfield, the original Eden Village. Together they knew the Eden Village concept was going to be the answer to end homelessness in Excelsior Springs, MO. Now we start and build the community our town desperately needs.

We received our Federal IRS 501(c)(3).

Certificate of Incorporation - State of Missouri
We received our Certificate of Incorporation and Certificate of Amendment from the Secretary of State of the State of Missouri as Eden Village of Excelsior Springs, Inc. as a Missouri non-profit corporation.Joined The Eden Village Family
We entered a licensing and consulting agreement with The Gathering Tree and Eden Village of Springfield to model the Eden Village concept in Excelsior Springs Missouri.

Board of Directors Formed
A group of the like-minded individuals formed the Eden Village Board of Directors planning the country’s first Eden Village in a small suburb. We believe that our community should take care of our own neighbors experiencing homelessness rather than leaving them to relocate to a metropolitan city to access housing and services.Community Meeting Exploring Eden Village
Barbee Memorial Presbyterian Church hosted a community meeting exploring Eden Village as a solution to homelessness. The meeting was attended by citizens, various church leaders, city officials and law enforcement.
