Frequently Asked Questions

When will Eden Village of Louisville be taking applications?
Currently Eden Village of Louisville is in the fundraising stage and actively seeking land to buy and build our tiny home gated community on. Once land is purchased and funding is available, the community center, infrastructure and housing will begin the development process. Once the community is built, we will begin placing residents. Follow our socials and we’ll let you know when the application process opens up.
How long do residents live in Eden Village?
Indefinitely or as long as they so choose. Once you’re an Eden Village resident, you have a home. As long as Eden Village residents act as good neighbors and follow the Eden Village community guidelines, they are welcome to live at Eden Village. This is not a temporary solution; this is a community for the chronically homeless to live and thrive.
When will Eden Village of Louisville be open?
Eden Village of Louisville is currently fundraising and seeking land to develop. Once land is purchased, and community infrastructure is built and homes are moved in, we’ll be announcing an opening date.
What does it mean to be chronically homeless?
Chronically homeless individuals are defined as individuals who are unable to successfully live independently, often due to the diagnosis of a physical or mental health disorder. Chronically homeless people need consistent support to be able to maintain residency. To qualify to be an Eden Village resident you must have been homeless for 12 consecutive months, have a disability and be able to pay monthly rent.
What resources are available to the homeless in Louisville KY?
We encourage you to reach out to the Jacob’s Ladder Outreach program and to apply for residency if you qualify to live in Eden Village of Louisville. If those two organizations don’t meet your needs, please find more qualified not-for-profits on our resources page.
