As the housing crisis continues to get worse and worse, Arizona can no longer sit back and watch. The time is long overdue, and together we will make a difference in getting our friends into a home and with the support system they need.
We are built to be a community of people that helps one another succeed. When we have many who have fallen, we can’t look at it as ‘not our problem’ we must give them a hand up and help them in helping themselves. A city with a growing population is expensive. Our city’s resources are going to help the needy, rather than growth. Let us decrease their need for city and county resources, by building them a place to live and thrive.
The Eden Village concept was birthed by The Gathering Tree and has proven to be a successful model in different sized cities throughout the U.S. Eden Village of Springfield now has three gated communities within a small city half the size of Scottsdale. If a city that small can support 3 communities, there is no telling what Phoenix, Tucson, Mesa, and others can do. They have provided the road map; we just need to put it into place.
The mission of Eden Village is to build relationships and communities for our friends in need. We do this by providing Supportive Permanent Housing in a Community Setting. Today we are fully occupied at our first Eden Village in Springfield, Missouri with a waiting list of over 150 applicants. We envision a minimum goal of housing over 200 of our homeless friends. Eden Village of Arizona will replicate this model in Metro Phoenix.
