Desperate People

Desperate People

In Tulsa, we have over 3,000 people living without a home. Yes, the “official” Point in Time count from last January was less than that, but people in the homeless service world will tell you it’s an undercount. I participated in the count, and it’s just impossible to count every person living without a home over a few day period.

We do obtain valuable data and information, and it does provide a baseline from year to year. Many people with way more experience than I have in the homeless world tell me that the reality is 3,000, and even 4,000 people experiencing homelessness. And, it’s growing.

Eden Village of Tulsa is a startup non-profit, so we are working on a shoestring budget now. The official phone number for now is my personal cell phone, so I receive about 2 calls or e-mails daily now from people like this, whose name has been blacked out.

A new contact form submission has been received from the Eden Village website.

I NEED YOUR HELP I’M HOMELESS AND I HAVE NO PLACE TO LIVE I’M DISABILE

People on the streets who are desperate for help are contacting me, and I have to say “I’m sorry, we’re just not ready yet.”  We can only move so fast, but trust me, we’re moving as fast was we can. And, we’ve made great progress in a little over a year of forming our non-profit.

You can join us, and help move this much-needed project faster, with your support here.
