My wife and I recently attended a conference in Dallas, where the last of about 15 great speakers said, “Do what you know to do, even if you don’t know what you’re doing.” Well, that pretty much describes me! I know that the right thing to do is help get more people off the streets in Tulsa and into a dignified home, surrounded by care and services. A roof over their heads alone won’t solve the issue, but it sure helps. I do know some stuff, but sure don’t know it all! We’ve only been a non-profit for about 6 months now, so I’m pretty much figuring this deal out as we go.
I do know the need is great. The homeless problem in Tulsa, and in all other cities, is getting much worse. In Tulsa, we really don’t have time to mess around, complain, form committees, and attempt to get it all perfect before we take action. We just have to do it!
So, I’m trusting that other people will come along beside us to help make Eden Village a reality in Tulsa very soon. Right now, we need funding, as we’re not going to pursue much government money, for various reasons.
